As the Dust Settles...

Wed, 11/07/2012 - 22:34

As the dust settles from Tuesday’s election, many of us are busy trying to sort out and understand the implications of the results at the federal, state and local level. San Francisco Rising Action Fund worked hard on several state ballot initiatives and key local races, and we are excited to share the results with you, and hopefully help you make sense of what San Francisco’s political situation might look like in the coming year.

Vote Today, Tuesday November 6!

Tue, 11/06/2012 - 07:55

Today is an important day.  In our daily organizing we demonstrate in the streets, we cook dinner for community meetings, we coordinate political education workshops, and we also need to get out the vote on the issues that impact our communities.

10-Point People's Platform

Fri, 09/09/2011 - 22:39

San Francisco Rising Action Fund is a new grassroots organization that has united to make lasting change in San Francisco. Our members represent the rising majority of the city  – low income and working class communities of color – who contribute to the wealth and unique beauty of this city but have not benefited from its prosperity. We have a long-term vision for the city and we are in it, together, for the long run.  We are uniting African American, Latino, Chinese and Filipino communities and leaders from across the city to create a new, community-based political infrastructure capable of running sophisticated electoral operations each election cycle, and winning.

Our 10-Point People’s Platform reflects a policy agenda that will challenge the current status quo, and require the city to shift its resources and mindset to improve the lives of poor and working class people of color and immigrant communities in San Francisco.  View The Complete Platform Here

Get on the Bus With John Avalos

Sun, 10/09/2011 - 21:39

We rely on Muni everyday.

That’s why we’re voting for John Avalos for Mayor. Cable cars, Muni buses and street cars are San Francisco icons, but not just for tourists’ pictures and film-set backdrops. A strong Muni benefits everyone who lives and works in this City. Our public transit system is a vital workhorse that everyday carries hundreds of thousands of San Franciscans— to and from school, work, museums, the grocery store, soccer practice and health clinics.

Mon, 09/12/2011 - 23:31

San Francisco is the capital of the Left Coast. We are a city that leads with progressive values at a time when the Right wing controls the public debate everywhere else. We pride ourselves in being a welcoming city which celebrates and honors its diversity.
